Kapsyra™ Microencapsulation

Microencapsulation embeds or surrounds an active within a food-grade matrix or coating. The objective is protection and handling — not release modification.

The distinction that decides everything

Microencapsulation and modified release are different technologies with different evidence requirements, and conflating them is the single most common technical error in ingredient marketing. A matrix that protects an active from oxygen does not thereby delay its release. Describing it as “controlled release” asserts a functional property that has not been demonstrated and usually does not exist.

The entire NexaGens microencapsulated range is immediate / non-modified release. We state that on every product page and on the collection page, and we do not use the phrase “controlled release” anywhere except to explain why it is wrong.

Quality control parameters

Surface active or surface oil The most predictive parameter in the whole specification. Unprotected material on the particle surface oxidises first and dominates both sensory and early stability behaviour

Moisture and water activity Water activity, not total water, drives degradation
Dispersibility The functional outcome, measured rather than asserted
Peroxide, anisidine and TOTOX values For oil powders, measured over time rather than at release only

Current maturity

All twelve products are at Qualified status: manufactured, released against a confirmed specification and held in stock. Each production batch is supplied with a batch-specific Certificate of Analysis. Documentation available per ingredient includes the TDS, product specification, COA, SDS, allergen, GMO, irradiation and BSE-TSE statements, stability documentation, composition, storage and handling, and the microbiological specification. Where a product page states a functional benefit, we will provide the supporting data on request; where it has not been generated, the page says so.
